“Ceci nest pas une céramique” is of course all about ceramics.

The studio “Ceci n’est pas une céramique”, is situated in Brussels -Belgium. I rephrazed René Magritte’s famous words form his even more iconic painting “Ceci n’est pas une pipe”. His art form is part of Beligium’s most famous Surrealism. An art form that balances a rational vision of life with one that asserts the power of the unconscious and dreams. How appropriate for an art making space !

We (Ion and myself) moved into this studio in January 2020.

Ion Chisca, a master ceramist, originally from Moldova, joins me in the studio whenever he’s not delivering post and when his wife can miss him.

If you ever happen to come by, you will meet the studio dog and mascot Sidonie. Her logo is on our window. She is a tiny, 12 year old miniature dachshund with a lovely personality.
